Streamlining

It’s interesting how a single event can be the catalyst for a series of following events. Like a single domino setting off the demise of a thousand others before it.

I’ll go into more detail about that first domino later. But it has set off quite a few website related changes that are worth mentioning now.

Retiring: LeifQ.me Biz

First, I’m retiring my WordPress website building, maintenance, and support business. In fact, I stopped servicing customers beginning in July.

I will keep the website active for now, and continue to focus posting anything WordPress on that site.

Deprecating: Quiki.Site

With LeifQ.me no longer in business, there’s no reason to keep Quiki.site active. It’s a multisite whose purpose was to host demo + staging sites, as well as proof-of-concept websites.

I began to list it for sale on Flippa, but it now cost$ to do that upfront. Pity.

Consolidating: LeifQuitevis.com

This will become my Source of Truth online. Less of a resume’ site and more of a hub or linktree.

I would’ve preferred to create a multisite using subdomains, but that means having to move my hosting to a Managed VPS plan. Still, DreamHost VPS allows me to easily create subdomains, so this will be the path of website consolidation moving forward.

Deprecating: LeifQuitevis.me

This started as my Home Services business website, complete with CRM and Invoicing. As I phased out this venture, it became my general topic blog site. A place to post anything that wasn’t WordPress or theology related.

This will live on, but on Blog.LeifQuitevis.com

I’ve kept the dot me domain, mostly for branding control. But it’s time to let it go to trim some fat and reduce some costs.

Deprecating: GrowthGroup.life

Another domain I will be letting go is GrowthGroup.life which is where I keep all my theological content. It is home to the notes and resources I aggregate when leading growth groups for church. I also share my personal thoughts and ideas on Christianity and theology as I grow and learn.

Because it is based on an LMS platform, it also gets a new home at Learn.LeifQuitevis.com

I haven’t decided on a style and branding approach just yet. Most likely, I’ll keep the design as-is with the exception of a more cohesive color palette.

Migrating: SonshineSurf.Co

This is a project i just can’t let die. I continue to believe in it and have hopes that it will one day find its footing, gain traction, and catapult into success.

Plus, I still have so many ideas to flesh out!

I’ve been so impressed with Pressable’s performance on hosting LeifQ.me that I want to migrate the SSC store over there. A staging site is already up and ready for the next iteration of my beloved online surfshop.

It may not seem like much, but trimming these few web assets carves out some space on my schedule to focus on other projects I want to prioritize.

While the journey ends for some, it continues down a new path for others.

Stay tuned!
